GIS Analyst/Systems Administrator

Cathie Benjamin is GIS Analyst for the TCRCD and acts as our organization’s systems administrator.  Among her responsibilities is the maintenance of the District’s computer system, troubleshooting technical problems, and procuring computer equipment.  With her background in GIS education at CSU Chico and Butte College, Cathie trains TCRCD staff in the use of various software programs, including ESRI ArcGIS.   She also conducts an array of GIS analyses and is our organization’s cartographic expert.  Prior to her arrival at TCRCD, Cathie worked as a GIS analyst for various organizations, plus she continues to manage the CSU Chico GIS computer lab. Cathie has earned a B.S. degree in Biogeospatial Analysis from CSU Chico with a Geoscience minor and a GIS Certificate, and she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Geography at that institution with an emphasis on watershed management.  Cathie’s skill set includes:

·         Extensive training and experience in the use of ArcGIS software

·         Hydrologic modeling

·         Transportation and network analysis

·         Remote sensing analysis and imaging techniques

·         Extensive knowledge of hydrologic processes, soil science, and geomorphology
