services overview

Natural Resource Services

The RCD offers many types of natural resource services, many of which are free to participants and some 'Fee for Service' programs which fall within our mission statement. Examples are erosion control, water quality protection, environmental monitoring, habitat enhancement, flood management, irrigation efficiency, assessment and management plans, and nutrient management. We look forward to working with you on your next project!

Group Educational Presentations

The RCD provides presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to local citizens, agencies, and organizations. Staff have participated for many years in Education Day at the Tehama County Fairgrounds, helping to introduce local youth to natural resource careers. A number of free informational brochures are available for download under the Library tab.

Fire Safe Communities

The RCD is active in wildfire related activities that concern many Tehama County citizens. Staff have created Community Wildfire Protection Plans, hosted fire safe council meetings, established fire safe communities, and worked with landowners to reduce fuels through the chipper program.

Habitat Restoration

Under the guidance of the Tehama East and Tehama West Watershed Management Plans, the RCD carries out many habitat restoration activities such as fish passage improvements, updated fencing and water feature protections, noxious weed eradication, and meadow encroachment.
