CDFA SWEEP - State Water Efficiency & Enhancement Program

The State Water Efficiency and Enhancement Program (SWEEP) provides financial assistance to farmers in the form of grants to implement irrigation systems that reduce greenhouse gases and save water on California agricultural operations. It is a first-come-first serve grant funding opportunity.

Eligible system components include (among others):

  • soil moisture monitoring
  • drip systems
  • switching to low-pressure irrigation systems
  • pump retrofits
  • variable frequency drives, and
  • installation of renewable energy to reduce on-farm water use and energy.

Updates: The next round of SWEEP applications is expected to open in fall of 2023. The RCDTC will be holding a free application assistance workshop in the coming months. Check back soon for details.

Once applications open, be sure to book your free one-on-one consultation. Contact Kevin at or by calling (530) 727-1297.
